Sports Journalism in Kansas City

As I am primarily a photojournalist, I have been able to meet other photographers as well as writers, shooting or writing for big organizations or papers. Meeting these people has helped me to grow as a photographer and writer.

Seeing and taking to these people frequently helps me grow with them as well. Seeing them on match days or at training sessions, events, and other media “gatherings” so to speak. Meeting names like Emily Curiel (KC Star photog), Thad Bell (KC Soccer Journal photog and writer), Blake Aerni (Sporting Kansas City play-by-play), Daniel Sperry (KC Star writer), Chance Parker (freelance photog), Patrik Bergabo (Sporting Kansas City press officer), Brian Hanni (KU broadcasting) and many more awesome people. Becoming good friends with these creative and talented people has been lots of fun over the past year and a half at the time of writing this.

I hope to meet more creative people as I continue this journey in the media industry.
